Who we are · What we're for
De Colores Arts Collective, Inc. was founded to promote and celebrate Hispanic art and culture in our region. We put art in front of public, opportunity in front of artists, and culture at the center of our growing rural communities.
Our mission
We celebrate and share Hispanic art and culture — supporting the artists who carry it forward, and spreading cultural awareness and knowledge across the region we call home.
para todos, con cariño
Five goals guide our mission and programming
We work hand-in-hand with local educators to bring fun, creative, and interactive learning experiences to kids.
Through hands-on projects, we expose young people to Hispanic culture early, and let them see themselves and their neighbors reflected in it.
We will strive to connect painters, musicians, dancers, and culinary artists with real opportunities to showcase their work, and connect with the people and places where they can build a following.
Hosting paid events where the proceeds go straight toward paying down school lunch debt for kids in our community and/or helping art teachers buy the supplies they need for their classrooms.
Art brings us together. The money we raise goes towards ensuring that every child gets to have breakfast/lunch, as well as, supporting local art teachers with supplies for their educational needs.
Every year, during the last week of Hispanic Heritage Month, we throw an outdoor festival and art fair — live music, dance performances, and fine art, all in one place — a full day of color that brings the whole region together.
It's our biggest celebration of the year, and our loudest invitation to anyone who hasn't found us yet. In addition to a smaller Spring craft fair, the Festival De Colores aims to showcase the work of our members by hosting an annual fair.
Underneath it all is one throughline: to spread cultural awareness and knowledge throughout the region — so that Hispanic art, music, food, and tradition are known, valued, and shared by everyone here.
Artist, educator, neighbor, or just someone who loves color and culture — every goal on this page needs people behind it. Come be one of them.
