Who we are

In the fabric of our DNA.

De Colores Arts Collective takes its name from the beloved folk song, and honors Juan and Maria Poblete, parents to Claudia Heidelberger, our founder.

Our Core Values

Authenticity

We celebrate our culture as it truly is, not as others expect it to be.

Inclusion

Our Hispanic identity is our foundation, not our fence. Everyone is welcome.

Legacy

We honor those who came before us and build for those who come after.

Community

Art is an expression of everything that is real. It belongs in open spaces for all to see and experience.

Excellence

Our community merits recognition for their skills and talents. We pursue quality in everything we do.

Craft

Handmade, hand-grown, authentically sourced. That's the golden rule.

Our founder

Claudia M. Heidelberger.

Claudia was born in Miami in 1972 into a world of culture, faith, community, and creativity. While she spoke Spanish first, she spoke English before kindergarten, learned by watching Sesame Street and an intense curiosity for her grandfather's Reader's Digest collection. She has been creating since she realized she loved to color in coloring books. For 35 years she has built a career in marketing, communications, graphic and web design, always with the heart of someone raised in a family that persevered through adversity with the resilience of a diaspora that had nothing left to lose. And as it turned out, creativity is in their DNA. When her family moved to Shelbyville, looked at the growing Hispanic community and asked one question: How can I help?

De Colores Arts Collective is her answer. A lifetime of resilience through adversity, creativity, and career led to this moment.
