A couple of weeks ago De Colores Arts Collective became an official 501c3, tax-exempt organization. Which means donations and sponsorships are tax-deductible. It also means we are able to independently apply for funding through grant opportunities without putting any additional burden on another non-profit.
DCAC wouldn’t have made it this far without the support of my founding friends. I am working on everyone’s artwork and founding friend gift. As promised, those will make it to before the end of the year. I am so grateful to each one of you.
Unfortunately, since this brilliant idea came to fruition a little too late, the grants I was hoping to apply for have closed, and the ones I am currently applying for, will go towards 2027 projects. That’s ok. That gives me more time to learn the joys and pains of running a non-profit, more time to volunteer, more time to connect with you – the artists, the dancers, the actors, and my fellow BIG dreamers!
