So… I did a thing.

So… I did a thing.

This is Claudia. De Colores Arts Collective, Inc. became a legally incorporated entity on June 1, 2026. The ByLaws are in place, the vision is mapped out on a calendar, and now we are moving to the next step: tax-exempt status. The paperwork to become a full-fledged 501(c)(3) non-profit has officially been filed with the IRS.

I want to thank all the Founding Friends who helped maked this a reality. Thank you so much for always believing in me and putting your faith in me. Many of you know my personal journey and know that I have been on quite the journey. Your personal artwork will come by Chirstmastime I promise! 🙂

What this means for De Colores

Once that approval letter shows up, every donation to DCAC becomes tax-deductible, and we become eligible for the grants that will fund the good stuff — the Collective, the craft fairs and festival, the programming, the art, all of it. The paperwork was just the final step of the process.

What it unlocks is not.

And no, we're not waiting around for the IRS. The Guild is happening! Craft fair AND Festival planning is underway. New friendships and bonds are being formed...so when that letter DOES show up, we will already be in motion...not that we haven't so far.

My parents crossed an ocean to start new lives, not knowing what their futures held. I only moved from Connecticut to Indiana. I filled out government forms to honor them. I'm so freaking excited! It will take about a month.

I am so freaking excited!
